Covid 19 Implications

We are open from 4 July 2020 on a restricted occupancy level to ensure we can carry out our Covid 19 policies for your reassurance and comfort.

Not only will there be fewer guests in the San Remo but we will have two dining areas with the possibility of outdoor seating on the sun terrace, weather permitting.

We have written our Covid 19 risk assessment and cleaning protocols to ensure that the possibility of transferring infection is at the lowest risk possible.

AA and Visit England Accreditation

The Visit England We're Good To Go industry standard and supporting mark means that we have demonstrated that we are adhering to the respective government and public health guidance, we have carried out a Covid-19 risk assessment and we have checked that we have the required processes in place.

AA Covid Confident accreditation indicates that we have in place the necessary risk assessment, safety measures and staff training to reopen safely, in line with the UK's respective government guidelines as well as UK Hospitality and respective trade association guidelines, as they are published.

Accreditation involves a six stage process including the completion of a risk assessment document, the provision of evidence that relevant safety procedures and measures are in place and demonstrating that staff training has occurred. In addition, participants must complete an online self-assessment and sign up to the Covid Confident Charter, a code of conduct that includes a commitment to update procedures and measures as guidelines change, and to submit to future audits as required.


What Can You Expect as a Guest Staying at the San Remo?

Both Jenny and Steve, the owners, live on site and therefore all the facilities have been managed throughout the lockdown period to ensure risks such as legionnaires disease are kept low by running showers and taps on a weekly basis. The fire alarms and emergency lights have continued to be tested on a regular basis.

Both our staff, Nicky and Katy are regular employees that we know and trust to safeguard our guests. The tourism advice is to think, plan and book ahead.

We will not be accepting guests who have not booked in advance. Once you have booked your accommodation with us we will send you a list of restaurants and signpost attractions for you to pre-book your places. This will be essential to avoid disappointment.

Prior to your stay we will email you our procedures about checking in safely and our procedures for sanitising and social distancing within the guest house. There will be hand sanitising gel available throughout the property.

Cleaning Protocols

We have revised our cleaning procedures in line with government guidance to ensure rooms can be kept hygienically clean by removing as many soft furnishings as possible. There will not be any cleaning of bedrooms during your stay but we will be asking at breakfast if guests require any replenishing of items for their room which will be left out on their return. Bins will be emptied daily.

Changeover days will mean a deep clean of rooms and we will then leave them airing for several hours between guests.

The dining experience will be to offer cold and hot food but no self service will be available. Social distancing will be maintained at all times between guests and staff.

Despite the current pandemic and the associated protocols we have to adhere to, we will strive to maintain our home from home experience, which has brought back guests time and time again. Please do not hesitate to call us to discuss your future stay.
